Town of Russiaville
Welcome Home...

Welcome to Russiaville, Indiana—a small town with a big heart and a rich history. Founded in 1845 and named after Miami Chief Jean Baptiste de Richardville, Russiaville (pronounced “Roo-sha-ville”) began as a Quaker settlement and played a quiet but important role in the Underground Railroad. Though nearly destroyed by a devastating tornado in 1965, the town’s spirit remained unshaken, and it was lovingly rebuilt by its resilient residents. Today, visitors will find a warm, tight-knit community proud of its heritage, with local landmarks, a charming small-town atmosphere, and a deep sense of perseverance woven into its story. Welcome to Russiaville—where history lives on and neighbors feel like family.
